This animation shows you how to test for starch. When iodine is added to any food containing starch a beautiful dark blue colour is formed. The animation shows you that bread, potatoes, pasta and rice contain starch. Carrots do not. Starch is also found in biscuits, cake, and bananas. It is the storage chemical used by most plants.
